GENEVA and ATLANTA, Jan. 26—MediPurpose®, a master medical product distributor and manufacturer, announced today that its babyLance® infant heel incision device trademark is now protected in Australia.
The Statement of Grant of Protection issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) protects both the word “babyLance” and the neonatal heelstick’s unique blue and green logo.
The medical device’s trademark is also registered in the United States, China, South Korea, Singapore and Switzerland.
The babyLance brand name and logo was designed by MediPurpose with the cooperation of an international graphics consultant who also designed the logo for the SurgiLance® safety lancet and MediPlus™ Advanced Wound Care products.
babyLance is a single-use heel incision device utilized to obtain a blood sample from the heels of newborn (babyLance BLN and preemie (babyLance BLP) infants.
