NORCROSS, Ga., July 29—MediPurpose™, manufacturer of the SurgiLance® Safety Lancet, has announced the promotion of Randy S. Prather to president and chief operating officer (COO).
In his new role, Prather will continue to oversee and direct the company's sales and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will facilitate operations and logistics for the medical device company and coordinate new business development activities.

In recent months, Prather assumed additional responsibilities for new business development and logistics planning and coordination for MediPurpose's global offices.
Prather joined MediPurpose as vice president of sales and marketing in February 2006 and moved quickly to establish strong relationships with a growing network of distributors. During his tenure as vice president, sales of the company's flagship product, the SurgiLance® Safety Lancet, grew. The SurgiLance® product was introduced to the consumer market through major retail channels and has continued its strong performance in acute and alternative care markets.
