LONDON, Dec. 19—MediPurpose™ today announced the expansion of its global medical product operations in Europe.
The company has targeted expansion into Europe as one of its key strategies to further grow its medical product business, and to increase the footprint of its medical product operations worldwide.
The expansion includes the establishment of offices in Spain and France to complement an existing office in the United Kingdom.
"With the expansion of the company into France and Spain, we plan to use our human resources and expertise in the U.S. safety lancet market to build a pan-European business," said MediPurpose CEO Patrick Yi. With the expansion also comes the announcement of new management in the respective countries. Alain Poncet is a consultant to the company, acting as vice president for Europe, while Stella Avarre is sales manager for France.
Poncet comes to MediPurpose from Terumo Europe, where he was president and CEO. He is now running his own consulting firm, Medvisor.
Avarre has had medical sales experience at Smiths Medical, Inamed, Terumo and 3M.
In Spain, Anthony Kong is the sales manager. Kong has had experience in the introduction of products in new markets. He holds an MBA from IESE Business School and a bachelor's degree from Southampton University.
Stephen Yi continues to head MediPurpose's U.K. operations, in addition to his role as group CFO.
