Patrick Yi Assumes Role as Chairman, President & CEO

NORCROSS, Ga., May 2—SurgiLance, Inc., the Atlanta-based sales, marketing and distribution subsidiary of SurgiLance Pte Ltd, Singapore, announced today that Hugh Cooper has retired as chairman of SurgiLance, Inc.

Cooper joined SurgiLance, Inc. at its inception in 2000 as senior vice president and chief operating officer. He oversaw the company's growth from its first dollar to the multi-million dollar sales level that the company achieved in its first three years. Cooper was promoted to president in 2004 and named chairman in January 2005.

Patrick Yi, SurgiLance group CEO and founder, will assume responsibilities as chairman, in addition to his current role as president and CEO of SurgiLance Inc.

Yi is responsible for the company's U.S. operations and remains the group CEO for SurgiLance which now has operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Yi's vision for the future of the company is to grow SurgiLance into a multi-product medical distributor and manufacturer with innovative products for the healthcare market.

Yi will also be responsible for:

• Growing a strong sales and marketing infrastructure
• Building a new business development team
• Establishing relationships with universities, R&D organizations, venture capital and incubator firms to tap new business development opportunities
