MELVILLE, N.Y., and NORCROSS, Ga., Oct. 10—Henry Schein, Inc., the largest distributor of healthcare products to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets, has reached an agreement with Norcross-based SurgiLance, Inc. to include SurgiLance's One-Step Safety Lancet in its mail order catalogue.

Headquartered in Melville, N.Y., Henry Schein serves more than 400,000 customers worldwide, including physician practices and laboratories, dental practices and veterinary clinics, as well as government and other institutions.

"This should be a major boost for sales of our One-Step Safety Lancet," said Mark Nicholson, SurgiLance's vice president of sales and marketing. "Their catalogue is the ‘catalogue of catalogues' for medical products. Being included in it is a testimony to the quality of our One-Step Safety Lancet product line."

SurgiLance recently received a U.S. Patent for its One-Step Safety Lancet Product. The lancet responds to the needs of both medical product distributors and clinical end-users who want to sell and use a medical product that meets the requirements of the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act legislation.
