SAN DIEGO and NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 25—San Diego-based Premier, Inc., a national alliance of not-for-profit hospitals and health systems, has added Norcross-based SurgiLance, Inc., to its approved vendor list.

Under the terms of the agreement, SurgiLance can market and distribute its One-Step Safety Lancet to more than 1,500 hospitals and other healthcare sites throughout the nation that are affiliated with Premier.

"This relationship represents a significant growth opportunity for our company," said SurgiLance COO Hugh Cooper. "Premier is a recognized leader in the healthcare field. We can only benefit through this association.

On an annual basis, members of the Premier alliance purchase more than $17 billion in medical supplies and equipment. Premier's emphasis on product quality and supply chain efficiencies, coupled with competitive pricing, translates to annual savings of almost $1 billion for alliance members.
