SELANGOR, Malaysia, and NORCROSS, Ga., Feb. 21—SurgiLance further expanded its medical product distribution network in Asia when it appointed Premier Diagnostics as its distributor in Malaysia.

Premier Diagnostics Sdn Bhd, a privately owned company, has a dynamic sales team covering both East and West Malaysia. The owner, Steven Soh, has vast experience in the diagnostic business, having represented companies such as Saliva Diagnostic System Inc. (Hema-Strip & Sero-Strip HIV Rapid Test), Kinetik Pty Ltd (cytology products) and Gradipore Ltd (thrombophilia products).

"Malaysian healthcare institutions are also concerned about sharps safety in the workplace and are moving towards greater use of disposable and safety medical devices," said Soh. "Although the general market is still very price-sensitive, some market segments are very interested in safer needle devices. We are confident that the SurgiLance™ One-Step Safety Lancet will do well in these segments, and we want to position our company as a provider of innovative and safer medical products to capitalize on the growing trend towards these products in Malaysia."
